Maidaan Movie Story

In 1952, India’s football team lost badly at the Olympics. Blame fell on the coach, Rahim. He asked to make a new team, and got permission despite some resistance. Rahim scouted players from all over India and formed a fresh team. At a party, Rahim and a journalist, Roy, argued bitterly.
In 1956, at the Olympics, an Australian player disrespected Neville, but he scored big, helping India win. The team got fourth place. Roy and Subhankar wanted Rahim out of the federation. In 1960, India tied with France but didn’t qualify. Rahim got removed as coach due to poor performance and found out he had lung cancer. Rahim wanted to coach again and promised a gold medal. Eventually, he got the chance and prepared for the 1962 Asian Games, even convincing the Finance Minister. But only a few players could go. Despite challenges like injuries and protests, the team fought hard. Rahim inspired them despite his failing health. Roy also started supporting the team. In the end, India won the gold medal.
